stuck in the middle of nowhere..
I've been reading this slide for like...an hour or so BUT i can't absorb a thing..arghhh..so i decided to share it with u..huhu..the topic is not dat difficult but learning thru blackboard.com (website for lectures' notes) is harder than i thought..with the internet and external disturbances etc..huhu..i have to dig into my shelf n search for my printed notes back..learning thru the traditional way is much better..hehe
ONCOPROTEINS- Mutations that produce oncogenes are typically dominant and associated with the stimulation of cell division.
1.Growth Factors or Receptors for Growth Factors - PDGF Platelet Derived Growth Factor (brain and breast cancer)
- erb-B receptor for epidermal growth factor (brain and breast cancer)
- erb-B2 receptor for growth factor (breast, salivary, and ovarian cancers)
- RET growth factor receptor (thyroid cancer)
2.Cytoplasmic Relays in Stimulatory Signalling Pathways - Ki-ras activated by active growth factor receptor proteins (lung, ovarian, colon and pancreatic cancer)
- N-ras activated by active growth factor receptor proteins (leukaemia's)
- c-src is a protein kinase that becomes overactive in phosphorylation of target proteins
By the way..do i have to remember all these ~erb, ~ras n ~src thingy??huhu..
